Wednesday 6

Balladonia ‘Caravan Park’ was quite a nice place to stay, if a bit noisy from trucks in the night.

Our day was fairly interesting. We saw cattle and sheep by the side of the road – well a bit off the road. We had 2 emus cross the road in front of us and a one stage when we were about to pass a truck it pulled out in front of us to pass the truck in front of it. That was a bit too exciting, however Doug threw out the anchors quickly enough and all was well.

There are some really interesting scenery and trees (again) along this bit of road as well as the signs of kangaroos jumping over emus or kangaroos jumping over cattle!

We stopped at Madura Pass for afternoon tea and a walk. This is at the top of the scarp and there is a good view over the land below - mostly salbush with a few trees at this point.

We arrived at Eucla safely at about 4pm Perth time and are set up nicely in their caravan park.

Tomorrow we cross the border which is only 12 km from here and we will be West Australians no longer – just homeless!
