The first few days

Two days in York – well out of York a bit – on a place called White Gum Farm. It was ok but I don’t know if we’d go back. We arrived after dark and didn’t get a very good welcome so went to bed exhausted and emotional.

The next day - Sunday – we slept in as far as Heidi would let us, fiddled around and then went for a walk. There were a few lovely wildflowers out and some nice scenery. Very satisfying! Later we had an afternoon rest and then tea and early bed.

This morning it took us ages to get packed up because of the different things we’d brought but with some juggling we got everything in. I’ve managed to give away a bag of rags that we were supposed to leave at the Salvos and we’ve eaten some of the food so things will get easier as we go along.

We stopped for morning tea at Yealering nature reserve and went for a walk on one of their trails which was pleasant.

Tonight we are a Southern cross in their lovely caravan park. They have excellent showers and toilets, ranking very high on our list of what we would ideally like.
